1. Drink plain water instead of carbonated or syrup drinks.
2. Limit sugar, condensed milk and sweetened creamer to one teaspoon per glass.
3. Avoid adding sugar to food. Reduce sugar when baking cakes or kuih.
4. Avoid sweet drinks and food in between main meals and before going to bed.
5. Have fruits for dessert.
6. Read the food labels and avoid products that list sugar at the top of ingredients.
7. Choose products that say "low in sugar" and "sugar-free" on the labels.
